You don’t even have to be a gamer to know about the Madden curse but in case you’ve lived under an anti-NFL rock the last 20 years I’ll fill you in.
The “Madden Curse” is an infamous legend, believed to strike NFL players who appear on the cover of the most successful video game in history, EA Sport’s “Madden NFL.” Players are believed to suffer a serious injury or a severe drop in performance. Its not known how many players actually believe in the curse but the curse has gained popularity for its above 75% success rate!
Anyway not many details have been released about the film but The Wrap says “The story will follow a former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game’s cover — and subject to the curse.” That doesn’t give us alot to work with but its already sounding horrible to me so I wanted to give the heads up for a soon-to-be-made crappy movie to avoid.
